A growing partnership between Keyano College and Accel Physical Therapy is providing benefits to the College and community. Accel owners Angie Martin and Ashleigh Whiffen had been the official physical therapists of the Keyano Huskies for almost a year and were considering a second location, when approached by College to become a part of the Syncrude Sport and Wellness Centre. The College officially welcomed Accel as a new rental client on July 8, 2019. “We had certainly been flirting with the idea of a second location,” noted Ashleigh. “Having a location downtown means providing more convenience for our customers as our business grows.”
As the official Physical Therapists to the AJHL Fort McMurray Oil Barons, the Fort McMurray Monarchs, the Fort McMurray Knights, as well as the Keyano Huskies, Accel provides a wide range of Physical Therapy and Massage Therapy treatments for a growing clientele. Angie said the new location allows Accel to provide more accessible physical rehabilitation services for people living and working in the downtown, including College employees. “We want our services to be located as conveniently as possible and we are proud to be a part of the Sport and Wellness Centre, and as always, a part of this community,” she said.
The business also features a Keyano College graduate in a key position. Office manager Pam Keck, graduated from the College’s Office Administration program in 2016. She has since become a vital part of the growing Fort McMurray business.
“It’s very busy but I enjoy being part of a thriving practice,” said Pam.
