Physical Therapist
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at Memorial University in 2014 and then went on to complete my Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2018. I worked in private practice for 2 years in Grande Prairie and recently decided to make the move to Fort McMurray.
I have since went on to complete post-graduate courses in Functional Dry Needling (FDN/IMS), Level 1 of Advanced Orthopedic Manual Therapy and Neuro-Proprioceptive Taping. I have also become certified in the Integrated Shoulder Rehabilitation (ISR) program, which involves taking an active exercise based approach to help rehabilitate various shoulder injuries.
I believe in an active rehabilitation approach coupled with manual therapy and education that is catered to meet each person’s individual goals. I use a variety of treatment techniques including soft tissue mobilizations, dry needling, functional movement assessments and individualized exercise prescription to help address muscular imbalance, and biomechanical issues. I am passionate about continuing my learning and advancing my skills through research and completing courses to ensure the most up to date and best evidence based practices are being employed.
I work with individuals of all ages involved in motor vehicle accidents, work place injuries, pre-and post-surgical, sports injuries and various other acute and chronic injuries.
Outside of work, I lead an active lifestyle and enjoy spending time at the gym, running and hiking, playing sports and spending time with my family and friends.
