Hamze Assaf, PT Intern, BScPT
I graduated from the Université Antoniné in Beirut, Lebanon with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical therapy. During my studies I was interested specifically in the sports & orthopedic fields of physiotherapy which led me to help form the Antoniné Rugby League team and graduate the top of my class in Sports Rehabilitation.
Originally being from Windsor, Ontario I decided to relocate to beautiful Fort McMurray & join the Accel team. My decision was highly influenced by my desire to be a part of a small tight knit community within which I could contribute positively.
When working with my patients I place a heavy emphasis on forming a patient centered treatment plan that relies on evidence based & scientifically proven techniques that are unique to each individual. My objective is to empower my patients to the point where they are able to achieve their goals and return to their previous activities with optimal health.
Since starting my career I have made it a point to participate in professional development courses regularly in order to further supplement my skillset for my patients as well to stay up to date on current research. I am currently certified in Kinesio-Taping, Mulligan Upper Quadrant and Shift Level 1 Concussion Assessment & Treatment.
When outside of the clinic I aim to carry on an active lifestyle by exploring Alberta’s endless wilderness, being in the gym regularly, & participating in outdoor activities throughout the seasons. I am also able to offer physiotherapy services in Arabic.
